The Supercells of Mid July

Mid July provided several opportunities to chase tornado warned supercells that did not produce tornadoes. The northern plains is my favorite spot to chase in summer. Modest westerly flow aloft with good low level moisture, instability and winds, set the stage for several days of photogenic supercells. The best of these are featured below. Enjoy!
Pretty supercell west of Fargo, North Dakota July 13th.

Magnificent view using my wide angle lens of the same supercell.
This same supercell west of Fargo came close to becoming tornadic several times.
Massive HP supercell near Cheyenne Wells, Colorado on July 15th. This was tornado warned periodically through its life cycle.
Strong outflow as this supercell cycled up with an area of strong rotation in the notch behind this.
Great color contrast as the green hail core with baseball sized hail in it is on the right.
Nice anvil of a supercell west of Devil's Tower, Wyoming on July 19th.
Great structure of the same supercell west of Moorcroft, Wyoming. This became a massive hailer.
Storm draws near with gorgeous structure as Moorcroft was pelted with softball sized hail. We endured some of the intense core.
