An intense surface low developed over east central Colorado on October 26th. The deepening low caused very strong surface winds to develop, prompting the NWS Boulder to issue a Blizzard Warning for the Monument Hill/Palmer Divide area. Surface winds gusting to 65 MPH created whiteout conditions with over a foot of snow in 6 hours. Thunder was even heard.
